SSMP (School of Scalp Micropigmentation) offers one-to-one scalp micropigmentation training in Seoul, South Korea. Courses are taught in English or Korean by Jae, founder of Scalp Korea and an SMP practitioner since 2019, with a focus on practical techniques, hands-on practice, and individual feedback.

One-to-One SMP Training in Seoul
All courses are private and taught in English or Korean.

Training days are preferably spaced apart so you can practice before your next lesson. Dates can be discussed based on your availability.

Practice Models
We recommend bringing your own model, preferably a friend or family member, so you can observe how the dots heal and change over time and adjust your technique.
If a model is unavailable, you can practice on a mannequin head or honeydew melon. These help with technique practice but do not replace working on real skin and observing healed results.
Advanced Shaved-Head Training
This course is for practicing SMP artists who need additional guidance with shaved-head treatments. Training focuses on your current technique and the specific areas you want to improve.

Frequently Asked Questions
Does the beginner course cover shaved-head treatments?
The beginner course focuses on SMP fundamentals and density work, such as the crown and parting areas. Advanced shaved-head training is for practicing SMP artists who need additional guidance with those treatments.
Can I treat clients after completing the course?
The course gives you a foundation to begin treating suitable clients. Working with clients is an essential part of developing your skills, but completing the course does not mean you have mastered SMP. Start with straightforward cases within your ability, be clear about your experience, and build your skills gradually.
Why do you recommend spacing the training days apart?
A gap gives you time to practice before the next lesson. You can return with questions, receive feedback, and work on areas you find difficult. The interval can be discussed based on your availability.
Can I join if I have no SMP experience?
Yes. Beginners are welcome. We start with the fundamentals and adjust the pace to your progress. Artists with previous training can also join to review their technique.
How many students are in each class?
All classes are private and one-to-one. You train directly with Jae.
What is Jae’s approach to teaching SMP?
Jae originally trained with Scalp Micro USA and has continued developing his techniques through practical treatment experience. Lessons combine demonstrations, hands-on practice, and individual feedback.

예, 저희의 수강방식은 한국에서 대부분의 SMP 교육기관의 방식과는 상당히 다릅니다. 과외식 밀착교육으로 처음부터 저희와 시작하는것이 좋습니다. 재수강자들의 경우에도 타교육센터에서의 과정과의 상이점 때문에 처음 배우시는 것처럼 느끼실수도 있습니다. 특정 패턴에 점을 찍는 방법과 SMP 머신을 잡는 방법 등부터 다릅니다.
Will I be able to keep up even if I know nothing about SMP?
Yes, almost everyone starts from scratch whether he or she has taken other SMP classes. This is because the way we approach SMP is quite different from how most Korean academies teach SMP. With a 90% success rate in producing SMP practitioners with our two-day class, we can confirm that most of our students will be able to perform SMP (crown and parting areas and perhaps even hairline) with our two-day class.
Do you draw hair strokes on the scalp?
No. We teach the placement of small pigment dots to create the appearance of closely cropped hair follicles or reduce the contrast between existing hair and the scalp.

The training is suitable for beginners learning SMP and practicing artists who want to improve their technique. Please share your experience and learning goals so we can discuss a suitable course.
How long is the course, and what does it cost?
A minimum of two training days is required. The fee is ₩800,000 per day, or ₩1,600,000 for two days. Additional training days are available at ₩800,000 per day.

Do you draw hair on the scalp?
No, we only place dots on the scalp.

How much experience do the instructors have in SMP?
Jae has practiced SMP since 2019. He is the founder of Scalp Korea and co-founder of SSMP, and teaches in English or Korean.
